Prevent Mold From Growing in Your Home
When it comes to removing mold, it can often seem like the impossible task. Not to mention that once you remove it you need to find a way to keep it from coming back! To help you out in this regards, Thistle DKI has the following tips to share.
Keep the Air Flowing
If you live in a humid environment, your are experiencing some unseasonably humid weather, or the design of your house means that the air in some of your rooms is moist, then it's important to keep the air flowing through your home. If the air is allowed to sit inside your home then the moisture can absorb onto your upholstered furniture and your carpet where it can encourage mold growth. The easiest way to prevent this from happening is to open a strategic number of windows and doors to promote constantly airflow, keeping air moving in, through, and then out of your house. If this isn't an option for you, consider a dehumidifier device. These work in a similar fashion to an air conditioner, only they extract moisture from the air and recirculate drier air for you to enjoy.
Don't Take Your Time!
If you see a spill occur, clean it up immediately! Don’t wait until the commercials are on or until you get off the phone, take care of it immediately. If spills are left then the liquid has plenty of time to make its way to the root of your carpet fiber where it does nothing except provide the perfect environment for mold growth; a dark and damp environment.
